TWO EXCITING TRIPS TO GREECE
April 27 to May 11, 2007 - For men only. Visit the ancient monasteries of Mount Athos for the spiritual and inspirational experience of a lifetime. Visit with the holy fathers, venerate the beautiful icons and holy relics. Discover Orthodoxy. Follow Saint Paul's journey through Greece. Visit the ancient and historic sites. Learn about Greece and all her beauty and history. This will be a 15-day journey starting June 22, 2007 and continuing until July 6, 2007. This trip is for both men & women. My name is Theofilos Russos. Since the time I was a fifteen-year-old boy, I grew up near Mount Athos and have visited there at least 100 times to walk on foot, as well as to travel there by boat. Each year, I take a group on a pilgrimage to Mount Athos, Meteora and many other places. I invite you to join me on an unforgettable journey. We値l bring blessings home for our homes and ourselves. We値l be able to absorb the wonder and beauty of the monasteries, some of which are over a thousand years old. Departing from Los Angeles, we will stop a short time and change planes to fly directly to Thessaloniki, Greece. Upon arrival, an air-conditioned bus will meet us to take us directly to our first-class hotel for a traditional abundant Greek dinner and an overnight stay. After our delicious buffet breakfast, our bus will take us to the ship, which will take us to Mount Athos. We値l stay on Mount Athos for nine days and each night we値l stay at a different monastery. There will be a van at our disposal to take us to each monastery, as well as to some of the other monasteries, which we will visit for only a short time. This will give us time to venerate the Holy Relics, see miraculous icons and give us an opportunity to visit with many of the monks and elders there. Upon leaving Mount Athos, our bus will take us to Ormylia, the Monastery for women. There you will see beautiful hand-embroidered cloths and vestments, hand-painted icons and hear inspirational chanting by the Nuns. There will be an opportunity to purchase some of the handwork, CDs and tapes made by these dedicated women.
The cost of the trip will include airfare, hotels and most meals the ship to and from Mount Athos, the guide and the bus or van, as well as the gratuities given to each of the monasteries. My friends, you who come on this pilgrimage to Mount Athos will surely find it such an unforgettable experience you値l want to return again and again. I feel that I have been blessed to be able to visit Mount Athos over one hundred times. I致e gotten to know many of the holy fathers who have given me strength and the ability to return. Each year, they send me a certificate allowing me to visit the Holy Mountain as many times and as often as I care to, along with the group which is with me. If a person were to go on his own, he would not be permitted to stay longer than two or three days.
